Title IX

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits sex-based discrimination in any school or any other education program that receives funding from the federal government. F&M鈥檚 Title IX Office ensures the College鈥檚 compliance with this fundamental law and fosters a living, learning and working environment free of discrimination and harassment.

鈥淣o person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.鈥

  • File a complaint according to F&M Sexual Misconduct Policies.
  • Request a criminal investigation by law enforcement.
  • Seek and be provided with supportive measures, including but not limited to medical, mental health and legal, visa/ immigration status assistance.
  • File a claim and receive a prompt and equitable resolution to complaints under Title IX.
  • Request and obtain a No Contact Order and to receive information and assistance with obtaining Orders of Protection from local law enforcement.
  • Be free from retaliation for exercising your rights.
  • Be provided resources for on and off campus support and health services.
