Experience Lancaster, a program distinct to F&M, curates and connects students with opportunities to uncover the dynamic offerings of our renaissance city. This fall, Experience Lancaster is coordinating first-year excursions to local sites of historical and cultural value to help new students develop an intimate appreciation of Lancaster as a historic town and lively city.
鈥淥ur students live on campus, but they make all of Lancaster their home. These Experience Lancaster excursions are an intentional approach to help students uncover what makes our city so special,鈥� said Stephanie McConnell, F&M鈥檚 executive director of career and professional development. 鈥淏y sharing these adventures with classmates, faculty, and staff, new Diplomats also get a head start on building a strong foundation for the relationships they'll continue to cultivate throughout their four years here.鈥�

Layla Beyer 鈥�27 is getting a firsthand look at how communities unite through a shared love of the arts. Beyer, who studies history of art and architecture and theatre, is interning with the Mount Gretna Outdoor Art Show. 鈥淚t is really inspiring to see this kind of work get done for the love of people and art,鈥� she said.
